Utopia-The-Edit has exciting news with the announcement that we are collaborating in the publication of articles and events with one of Europe’s top quality on-line climate magazines, the Climate Journal.

A big welcome to its editors, Szilvia Szabo and Bronagh Loughlin who will be regular contributors to our magazine. Readers may already be familiar with Bronagh’s work, as she has written several excellent articles for Utopia-The-Edit over the past year.

It would be a big mistake to think that with that title, the Climate Journal is a stuffy, academic publication narrowly focused just on aspects of climate change. Yes, it investigates and raises debate and concerns on the climate crisis. However, its coverage of the changing climate, its impacts and mitigating its effects, and the  surprising angles it takes on some subjects, gives its plenty of scope for a variety of topics and themes in its articles.

Here is just a small sample of some of the topical issues currently being discussed in the Climate Journal:

  • Can AI help tackle the carbon challenge?
  • Why putting women in charge could be key to meeting climate goals
  • Re-imagining milk production to make it local and circular
  • Companies going quiet about their climate efforts is becoming a massive global trend
  • Five misleading assumptions about addressing carbon emissions
  • How can we inspire sustainable behavioural change?

Calling Aspiring Journalists

Much more than a publication. For aspiring journalists wishing to pursue a career in the area of the environment, the Climate Journal, is offering an excellent opportunity through its Future Feature Program to learn about the climate crisis and related social issues while they gain valuable industry experience, build their portfolios, enhance career opportunities – and change the climate narrative.

The program is a partnership with third-level educational institutions to deliver workshops, provide an open-access online learning platform and offer hands-on internship placements.

Admission is open for journalism, PR, business communication or marketing undergraduate and postgraduate students and fresh graduates.

And an Added Bonus……………

For entrepreneurs, leaders  from the business, research and policy sectors, an affiliated on-line publication is the Profit With Purpose Magazine. I highly recommend this magazine which features easy-to-digest content focusing on sustainable development, and each issue covers a central theme, such as carbon management, leadership, circular economy or sustainable cities.

I guarantee you will find some item(s) of interest in either of these magazines. For me, this weekend I going to read the Profit With Purpose article- Fifty shades of ocean plastic recycling. I am sure I will learn something.

The Climate Journal is run by the Irish social enterprise Purpose Content Studio, which is on a mission to change the climate narrative and upskill the next generation of media and communication professionals.

The Profit With Purpose Magazine is supported by the Enterprise and Economic Development Department at Dublin City Council and the Local Enterprise Office
